Lafouge

Gilles Lafouge, a talented winemaker, has been joined by his son Maxime at the historic Auxey-Duresses estate. The duo own some of the finest terroirs in the appellation (all of which are owned). Right next to the vines of a certain Lalou Bize Leroy, they grow superb, non-certified organic grapes that make very accessible wines when young. The whites are reminiscent of great Meursault wines, and the reds are not to be outdone, with lots of fruit and a lovely sparkle. This is one of the best value for money wines in the Côte de Beaune.
