Gérard Boulay (Sancerre)

Gérard Boulay has some of the greatest terroirs in the village of Chavignol. Edmond Vatan’s neighbour produces world-class old Sauvignon Blanc vines on slopes of over 30%. Still dominated by the stony expression of their terroir and not by the varietal character of the grape variety, the wines are very elegant and full of minerality (reminiscent of Chablis wines). Gerard Boulay is an advocate of parcel-based viticulture and biodiversity, which is why all his vines are free from chemical inputs. These Sancerre wines develop wonderfully over the years, taking on truffle aromas.
