Château Sociando Mallet (Haut-Médoc)

Sociando-Mallet is now run by Sylvie Gautreau, daughter of the legendary Jean, who will die in 2019 after a unique career. This Château, well known to wine-lovers, is located in the northern part of the Médoc, a few kilometres from Saint-Estèphe. It practises traditional viticulture to bring out the quintessence of its terroir, but without green harvesting. The philosophy is based on knowledge of the parcels of land and tradition. The wines are fine and elegant, with aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco and a mineral touch reminiscent of Pauillac; they are supported by fine tannins and a lovely freshness.
