Château Talbot (Saint-Julien)

Château Talbot owes its name to an English soldier from the mid-15th century, known as Constable John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, commander of the English army, who was defeated and died in 1453 at the Battle of Castillon during the Hundred Years’ War. This is an emblematic Saint-Julien cru, now run by Jean-Michel Laporte. He favours sustainable viticulture to express the richness of his terroir. The wines are elegant and well-structured, with aromas of red and black fruits, cedar and spices, and long, refined finishes. They generally open up fairly quickly in bottle.
